  1. It's eerie out here tonight. Our two nearest neighbors are on vacation and silo guy has disappeared. I went out right after sunset to turn off some sprinklers and heard the great horned owl hooting. Then another at some distance from the first. I didn't see her but she sounded like she was in a cottonwood in front of the house. Now I'm sitting here at the kitchen counter and all of those dark sunroom windows withhold information of the outside world on this moonless night. Here's the short thing I wrote at our breakfast yesterday. (07/15)
"Boy, I'm tired today. The enjoyment of solitude can be draining. I'd rather watch junk Tv or read a novel in bed than sleep. In the a.m. I rise early to get to my writing, to Nelle, then emails. By late morning I'm out and about, either running errands or doing yard work, then a late lunch, some play activity, the hand watering, the sunset and the evening's passtime. The 1st day of solitude brought a visit from Owl who has become my totem."
I've been formulating our work session for Saturday. Kind of an agenda of things to discuss and decide, including a timeline. Had some help from my therapist to keep me focused. We need a mission statement or vision. I like your idea about working on projects we like. We need a list of services, past clients, quotes, a sentence about what editing can do, and a paragraph about fees, maybe short bios. I will email you the one I use for my nonprofit consulting. Then we need a business plan that includes the above but focuses on marketing: to whom, in what medium, with what particular service? I think the Idaho's Writer's Guild will be a good source of work in the long run but in the meantime we'll need to go out and find it. We should talk some more about manuscripts. I know you are reluctant to pursue them due to some bad experiences but I'd like to discuss it.
this reminds me that I need to follow up with Idaho Writer's Update and with a query from a North Idaho publisher. Diane Ronayne mentioned it but never told us what or who.
Brought home He's Just Not that Into You from Redbox tonight. Think it's time to go watch it.

  2. Laurie - There is no place to post my own work, only a Post A Comment link to yours. I will go to gmail and send you a piece I'm working on for an online writers' newsletter. Tomorrow I will bring my laptop and you can show me what I'm not seeing.
